On Joomla 4.1.4, when trying to install language packs gives this error:

Unable to detect manifest file.

The installation of Joomla 4.1.4 was ok normally except, that I had to remove Installation directory manually.

Welcome to Joomla forum!

Your issue seems an owner/permission issue with the files. Joomla (running under your webserver process) should be able to remove the Installation directory automatically.

When you upload a .zip file in Joomla, it should be able to unzip (write) its contents in the /tmp folder.

Could you use Forum Post Assistant to give somewhat more info about your setup? https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/
